The Short Version
The ScrollFX app does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal or sensitive user data. It has no internet access, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party tracking. Every setting you choose stays on your device. That's it.
01Who This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy applies to B-Tech Labs ("we," "us," "our"), our website at btech-labs.com, and the mobile applications we publish, including ScrollFX on the Google Play Store. By using our apps or website, you agree to the practices described here.
02ScrollFX — Data Collection
ScrollFX does not collect any personal data. We do not gather, request, or have access to your name, email, contacts, location, photos, files, or any account information through the app.
All of your preferences (sound choice, volume, vibration pattern, cooldown, and the "Niagara Launcher only" option) are stored locally on your device and never leave it.
03Accessibility Service — How & Why
ScrollFX uses Android's Accessibility Service for one purpose only: to detect when you scroll so it can play a sound and/or vibration. This is the only technical way an app can add scroll feedback system-wide.
Specifically, the service:
- Observes scroll events (the system "view scrolled" signal) to know when to play an effect.
- Reads the active app's package name (e.g. bitpit.launcher) and the scrolled list's item count — only to support optional filtering like the "Niagara Launcher app list only" feature.
Just as importantly, the service does NOT:
- Read, record, log, or store the content of your screen.
- Capture text, passwords, messages, or anything you type.
- Take screenshots or inspect window content beyond what is described above.
- Transmit any information off your device — there is no network code in the app.
The accessibility data is used transiently in-memory to trigger an effect and is then discarded. Nothing is persisted or sent anywhere.
04Permissions We Request
- Accessibility Service — to detect scroll gestures and play feedback, as described in Section 03.
- Vibrate — to produce optional haptic feedback when you scroll.
We request no other permissions. ScrollFX does not access the camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, or network.
05Data Sharing & Selling
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user data to third parties — because we do not collect any in the first place. There are no advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking libraries embedded in ScrollFX.
06Children's Privacy
ScrollFX does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app contains no ads, no in-app purchases, and no external links, making it safe for users of all ages.
07Data Security
Because ScrollFX stores its settings only on your device and transmits nothing, there is no server-side data that could be breached. Uninstalling the app removes all of its locally stored preferences.
08Website Data
Our website, btech-labs.com, may collect information you voluntarily provide (such as your name and email when you create an account or submit a project request) to deliver our services. This is separate from the ScrollFX app, which collects nothing.
09Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, in the app's store listing.
